Why “Bobateeno”?
This name brings together three key elements we are proud of — Boba for flavor, Teens for energy, and ‘Tino‘ for hometown pride — all in one epic community celebration!
Boba:
Cupertino was the first city in the US to open a boba shop, and today it’s home to numerous well-known boba brands. People from nearby cities often come to Cupertino just for its boba! Lately, more coffee shops have begun to include boba on their menus, while boba shops are blending in flavors and ingredients from cuisines around the world. Boba is more than just a drink — it represents a vibrant cultural fusion. We’re proud to be helping share this evolving food trend and introduce new cultural experiences to everyone!
Teens:
Cupertino is not only known for its excellent schools, but also for its talented and energetic youth. They bring a breath of fresh air to our city—their creativity, positivity, open-mindedness, and kindness are rooted in Cupertino’s culture and continue to flourish. Bobateeno is an event created for kids, by kids—proposed by Cupertino’s Teen Commission many years ago! It’s a celebration of youth, creativity, and community—perfect for some summer fun with teens and other youth in the community!
Tino:
“Tino” is our nickname for the City of Cupertino (and also Cupertino High School!) — and we wear it with pride. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, our community is full of unique energy, innovation, and spirit. Join us for this special event and experience in what makes Tino truly stand out. You’ll feel the difference — and you won’t be disappointed.
Bobateeno is a blend of what makes our community special: the love of boba, the spirit of our teens, and the heart of Cupertino. Together, they create a celebration like no other.
